INSPIRATION: CLOTHING COLLECTION

ADEN + ANAIS BABY CLOTHING LINE

The seed for our baby clothes was planted back in the Aussie summer of 2003 when I took my first daughter Anais home to Australia for my maternity leave. While I was there, I kept wishing I had clothing made of muslin because it was so hot.

At the time, we were so busy with everything else going on at aden + anais, that it took me a few years to focus on layette. And once we could, a ton of R&D had to go into ensuring the quality of the clothes was where I needed it to be, from seam strength to the added spandex that makes them more comfortable to wear. As is the mantra for all things aden + anais, the collection also had to be practical—no one wants to be dry cleaning baby clothes.

Over ten years later, the collection came to life with essential, everyday pieces that are simple and adorable. Many of the cuts were inspired by Australian and European designs that I used to find it easy to dress my girls in, like the kimono one-pieces, the tunic tops, and the ruffle bloomers.

Like all of our muslin, the clothes are so comfortable on babies’ delicate skin because of their breathability and touchable softness. And not only is each piece machine washable, but it gets even softer with each wash.
